Turkey Burgers
My favorite way to top these burgers is with sautéed mushrooms, onions, spinach, and some perfectly melted cheese.

Turkey Burgers
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- 1 pound ground turkey
- 1 egg
- 1/4 cup onion diced
- 2 cloves garlic minced
- 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
- 1 tsp Worcestershire sauce
- 1/2 tsp paprika
- 1/2 tsp chili powder
- 1/2 tsp oregano
- 1/2 tsp salt
- 1/4 tsp pepper
Toppings (optional)
- 6 buns
- 6 slices cheese
- 1 onion chopped and sautéed
- 1 cup mushrooms sliced and sautéed
- 1 cup spinach chopped and sautéed
Mix together ground turkey, egg, onion, garlic, breadcrumbs, Worcestershire sauce, and spices. I recommend using your hands to mix everything together.
Form 6 patties, about 1/2 inch thick. Put a thumbprint indentation in each patty. This is so the burgers don't swell during cooking.
Heat a large skillet to medium-high heat and drizzle with olive oil. Add turkey burgers. You may have to do this in batches if your skillet doesn't fit all of them a once.
Cook for about 5 minutes per side, until internal temperature reaches 165 degrees. Cover the pan for a faster cook.
Enjoy with your choice of toppings.
Your patties will shrink about 1/2 an inch when cooked so remember to make them slightly larger than the bun you're going to use.
Try to avoid flipping your burgers more than once per side. Continual flipping causes them to lose their juices and become dry.
