Ingredients

  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 yellow onion diced
  • 2 garlic cloves minced
  • 1 tbsp ginger minced
  • 3 tbsp brown sugar
  • 1 tbsp fish sauce
  • 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
  • 1 cup cooked rice

Instructions

  • Heat a large pan over medium-high heat.
  • Sauté onion, garlic, ginger, and pork. Break apart pork until cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
  • Add brown sugar and stir once. Allow to sit for 3 minutes to caramelize. Stir and let sit again for 2-3 minutes.
  • Add fish sauce and soy sauce, cooking for 2 more minutes to heat through.
  • Serve with rice and pickled veggies.

Notes

To make this even saucier you can add more soy sauce before serving.
I like to make jasmine rice with these pork bowls but feel free to use long-grain white rice or basmati rice.
