Ground Pork Bowls
After adding the brown sugar, let the pork cook without stirring to help create the perfect caramelization.

Total Time 20 minutes mins
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbsp ginger minced
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup cooked rice
Heat a large pan over medium-high heat.
Sauté onion, garlic, ginger, and pork. Break apart pork until cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
Add brown sugar and stir once. Allow to sit for 3 minutes to caramelize. Stir and let sit again for 2-3 minutes.
Add fish sauce and soy sauce, cooking for 2 more minutes to heat through.
Serve with rice and pickled veggies.
To make this even saucier you can add more soy sauce before serving.
I like to make jasmine rice with these pork bowls but feel free to use long-grain white rice or basmati rice.
