This pork bowl recipe takes 20 minutes and is one of my and my husband’s absolute favorite meals. I love this dish because the brown sugar makes the pork caramelized, savory, and delicious. It pairs perfectly with rice and my Quick Pickled Veggies.

Ground Pork Bowls
After adding the brown sugar, let the pork cook without stirring to help create the perfect caramelization.
Ingredients
- 1 pound ground pork
- 1 yellow onion diced
- 2 garlic cloves minced
- 1 tbsp ginger minced
- 3 tbsp brown sugar
- 1 tbsp fish sauce
- 2 tbsp low sodium soy sauce
- 1 cup cooked rice
Instructions
- Heat a large pan over medium-high heat.
- Sauté onion, garlic, ginger, and pork. Break apart pork until cooked through, about 7-8 minutes. Drain any excess grease.
- Add brown sugar and stir once. Allow to sit for 3 minutes to caramelize. Stir and let sit again for 2-3 minutes.
- Add fish sauce and soy sauce, cooking for 2 more minutes to heat through.
- Serve with rice and pickled veggies.
Notes
To make this even saucier you can add more soy sauce before serving.
I like to make jasmine rice with these pork bowls but feel free to use long-grain white rice or basmati rice.
